QUICK HITS:
Yukon hops back on the schedule for the first time since 2013. The Huskies have won five straight in the series last losing to the Millers in 2008.

Edmond North enters 2018 on a skid of four consecutive losing seasons. The Huskies began playing in 1994 and have never suffered through five losing seasons in a row.

The Huskies defeated Moore 45-36 on October 19th. That was the most points scored in a single game since a 49-13 win over Moore in 2013.

LAST 5 YEARS:
2017 – 3-7

2016 – 1-9

2015 – 4-6

2014 – 3-7

2013 – 7-5

OFFENSE
The two-back spread offense of the Huskies has the coaching staff excited about the return of Blake Minnick (5-8, 225, Sr.) from injury as the senior running back will be toting the rock once again. Quarterback Colby Entwistle (6-1, 170, Jr.) was solid in his very limited playing time last season going 2-of-3 for 77 yards and a touchdown. Entwistle will look towards Jack Cheap (6-4, 190, Jr.) who pulled in 20 receptions averaging eight yards per reception for two touchdowns. Cole Karbs (6-0, 170, Sr.) should be a solid option in the passing game. It will all start along the offensive line as Olen Learned (6-5, 250, Jr.) and John Valentine (6-5, 215, Sr.) will look to help the Huskies offense control the line of scrimmage and thus the tempo the of game. “We will rely on a balanced attack and believe our multiple formations will control the tempo of the game,” said coach Tanner Roof, the first year head coach who served as offensive coordinator for Edmond Memorial last season. The Huskies will face Roof’s former squad on September 6.

DEFENSE
Operating out of the 4-2-5 defense the Huskies will lean heavily upon the experienced linebackers and defensive backfield this season. Cade Prosak (6-0, 205, Sr.) is back after a 71 tackle junior season that also saw him tally one sack. Prosak will be joined in the linebacking corps by Jake McCoy (6-2, 210, Sr.) and his 32 tackles from last year. The secondary returns free safety Chris Jagosh (6-0, 180, Sr.), who totaled 59 tackles and one interception in ’17, and Russell Dilks (5-7, 170, Sr.) at strong safety after a 50 tackle and one interception junior campaign. The defense will be disciplined and aggressive this season if coach Roof’s plan is executed. “We have a group of players that are extremely hard working and have a selfless attitude. We had a great spring and showed a lot of improvement throughout spring camp. We are all excited about this upcoming season,” Roof said.
